The wedding dress I made is not particularly ornate or embellished because of the limits of my sewing skills. So I decided the perfect way to add some vintage glam to my look would be to wear a statement necklace. Now that [...] How embarrassing, my boss (NM – you should know who she is) caught me looking at wedding dresses at work today. But luckily it gave me the opportunity to tell her that I plan to make my own wedding dress. I was really afraid to tell her that I did not want her to make [...] Every time I plan to start working on my dress, something always comes up. It also doesn’t help that I have to work weekends all month until fashion week. But HOPEFULLY I’ll be able to at least start it this coming Friday while Joe is at a basketball game. Seriously, I am so ready to [...] With Joe completely overwhelmed with Finals for PT school, I’ve had lots of free time to work on my projects. I definitely miss him these days, but I decided to make the most of it. So since I had the majority of this past weekend all to myself, I went ahead and finished the up [...] So a couple weeks ago I wrote about altering the neckline on Jenn’s dress. Well now I’ve added the final details and its finally finished! You can see the progress below. After altering the neckline, the next step was to make the waist band and bow. Well, mostly done, but it really feels like an achievement. All three of the dresses that I plan to alter are in some stage of transformation. I felt like I should alternate doing a little bit of each dress since getting started is always the hardest part, and the first step for each dress (removing [...] I was able to start working on my bridesmaid dress alterations this past week. I meant to take pictures of the pinning and ripping apart of the seams, but i totally forgot. So you’ll have to be satisfied with a simple before and after. Over the summer, I was eyeing a certain Jcrew dress as something I wanted for myself. I kept watching as the price dropped lower and lower, but could never justify buying it for myself when I get free cocktail dresses from work [...] |
