And We’re Back – Trivets!!

Wow, its been quite a while since I last posted on the blog.  I’m finally home after back to back vacations so hopefully I’ll be able to get back to regular posting again.

My most recent trip was a family cruise trip to Halifax Nova Scotia and St. John New Brunswick.  Both locations claim to be lobstering towns, but I suspect this may be a tourist trap since they were charging $27 per pound for a lobster.  A couple of years ago, Joe and I traveled to Maine and the lobsters there were significantly less.  Regardless, Halifax was a cute, quaint fishing town.  I really enjoyed soaking in that romantic nautical vibe.

I’m not very big on souvenirs – I feel like they usually just end up as useless clutter – but I did find one on this trip that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional for the home, so I caved in and made the purchase.  We stopped at this little shop by the port which sold all sorts of hand knotted nautical rope items.  They had coasters, wreaths, door stops, and more – all made out of knotted rope.  I ended up buying a trivet which is something we actually really needed at home… plus I’m totally into that nautical look right now.

Oh, also, do you notice an improvement in the quality of my images?  Hubby got me a brand new camera for my birthday!!  Its a Canon S95! =D

Love it!!!
