Major DIY’s in the Kitchen: PART 4 – Final Before and After Photos

Other posts in this series: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3

Major DIY’s in the Kitchen: PART 4 – Final Before and After Photos - << joeandcheryl.com >>

This is the last post in my four part kitchen series.  I’ve been trying to improve my photography skills and have been experimenting with shooting in RAW, white balancing, and all my other manual settings on my camera.  The only photos I’m not too happy with are the pics with the sink.  The lighting was terrible.  I think that’s the next thing I need to learn more about… lighting.

Anyway, I’m so happy with the way it turned out. The only thing left is the floors. They are driving me crazy. They are still that pinkish fake marble looking tile. Currently plotting solutions, but that’s a huge project for a later time. Oh, and we could use a new fridge too.

thanks, you guys!! it was hard work, but so worth it!

  • I’ve been thinking of covering my (awful, hideous) tile countertops with Ardex. Yours turned out so very well … I’m even more tempted. You have a really beautiful kitchen now — I hope you enjoy it every single day! 🙂

  • Oohhh, very nice! At first I thought…concrete countertops? Yick! But it looks so nice together with the white cabinets. I am a first time visitor so this may have been addressed before…but when I read apartment I think…rent and wonder how you are able to do this type of renovation???????????

  • Actually, I lied. I’ve been here before because you taught me how to care for my fiddle fig! I failed you. It has died 🙁

I own my apartment actually! In New York City, people who want to buy property often buy apartments rather than houses because the cost of living is just so high. And honestly, there just aren’t that many houses to be found!

  • LOVE the concrete countertops! Beautiful!

Where did you get your gold trivets? Love them and your kitchen renovation! Looks amazing…

Thanks for the compliments June! My brass trivets are made by a Japanese brand called Futagami. They are a little pricy, but I did find mine on sale for less. The sellers that I got mine from don’t seem to be selling them anymore, but perhaps try a google search? I did come across this Japanese online retailer that is willing to ship to the USA though.

I’ve searched your blog, but don’t see posts about your kitchen floor. What did you end up doing for it? Will you do a post, even a short one, on your floor update? Fingers crossed.

How do you put color in the che concert for the counter top?
