Now that my wedding dress is almost done – oh yeah, if you don’t already know, my wedding dress is almost done…more on that later. Anyway, now that the dress is almost done, I’m starting to more seriously look into finding the right shoes. I’m VERY picky, so luckily I still have several months to find a pair. I’ve decided that I want a pair of silver patent leather peep toe pumps. Sounds simple enough to find, you say? Well please direct your attention to the diagram below. As you can see, I have VERY specific requirements for the proportions of the shoe, and finding the right combination of elements is actually quite hard despite the fact that silver peep toes are pretty common.
Some shoes have come close to what I want but none quite hit the mark.
Even through this Ted Baker shoe is more complicated than the sketch I drew, I am actually quite in love with it because it has the general feeling I want. Unfortunately its only sold in the UK =(
On paper, this Calvin Klein shoe seems like it fits what I want, but there’s something that’s just very clunkey and ungraceful about the shape and quality. Plus the platform and heel height are higher than I wanted.
These Jcrew shoes are not peep toes, but they have the general shape I want, and if they came in silver, or even beige or white, I’d seriously consider getting them.
And here’s a Charles David shoe that comes close, but I’m still not in love with it. I guess I’ll just hold out and hope new styles become available this summer.
UPDATE: After scouring many shoe sites (google searches and shopstyle came up empty) I found the Ted Baker shoes on Endless.com in US sizes!! I ordered it in two sizes and one other pair of Anne Klein shoes. I plan to return whatever I don’t like or doesn’t fit. Yay! I hope the search is over!
Never knew shoes could be so complicated. =)
ooh! how about these?

but i dont know if the heel is what you like
you’re almost done with your dress?!? wow.
how do you find shoes that are only sold in the UK?? too bad you don’t know anyone in the UK to send it to you. I’m having difficulty distinguishing the difference b/t the back of your shoe/heel and the back of the shoe/heel for the one in the circle with the slash through it.
@glories – one heel is curved and one is straight
I know someone in the UK 🙂
If you really want the shoes and can’t find anything else, let me know.
they’re not silver.. but http://stuartweitzman.zappos.com/n/p/dp/57110643/c/933.html or http://www.colehaan.com/colehaan/catalog/product.jsp?catId=100&productId=239083&productGroup= or even http://stuartweitzman.zappos.com/n/p/dp/38287727/c/933.html?
would dyeing them work?
Ohh, thanks jenni, but the smallest size they sell is a size 4, and I found out from a friend who is a shoe designer that size 4 is like a 6.5 or 7 in the UK. I wear a 5.5 so i would need a 3 or 3.5 … i think it wasn’t meant to be. I think they must have larger feet over there.
@talida, I think I prefer leather over satin shoes. thanks for the suggestion though!
I am fascinated by the shoe diagramme! (I used UK spelling intentionally)
