Shoe Search

Now that my wedding dress is almost done – oh yeah, if you don’t already know, my wedding dress is almost done…more on that later.  Anyway, now that the dress is almost done, I’m starting to more seriously look into finding the right shoes.  I’m VERY picky, so luckily I still have several months to find a pair.  I’ve decided that I want a pair of silver patent leather peep toe pumps.  Sounds simple enough to find, you say? Well please direct your attention to the diagram below.  As you can see, I have VERY specific requirements for the proportions of the shoe, and finding the right combination of elements is actually quite hard despite the fact that silver peep toes are pretty common.

Some shoes have come close to what I want but none quite hit the mark.

Ted Baker Eavan Shoe

Ted Baker Eavan Shoe

Even through this Ted Baker shoe is more complicated than the sketch I drew, I am actually quite in love with it because it has the general feeling I want. Unfortunately its only sold in the UK =(

Calvin Klein Cora Shoe

On paper, this Calvin Klein shoe seems like it fits what I want, but there’s something that’s just very clunkey and ungraceful about the shape and quality.  Plus the platform and heel height are higher than I wanted.

Jcrew Clarice suede d'Orsay heels

These Jcrew shoes are not peep toes, but they have the general shape I want, and if they came in silver, or even beige or white, I’d seriously consider getting them.

Charles David Dazzle 2

And here’s a Charles David shoe that comes close, but I’m still not in love with it.  I guess I’ll just hold out and hope new styles become available this summer.

UPDATE:  After scouring many shoe sites (google searches and shopstyle came up empty) I found the Ted Baker shoes on Endless.com in US sizes!!  I ordered it in two sizes and one other pair of Anne Klein shoes.  I plan to return whatever I don’t like or doesn’t fit.  Yay!  I hope the search is over!
